Eli Ankuste
In our lecture today Eli Ankutse came in to give us a talk about the roles he has had within idustry and withing fragrance.
He is the Editor in Chief of Joshua's Magazine and Samson Magazine.
He also started the website Niven and Joshua which focused on selling fragrances for men as it is a mens grooming website and ended up working with Comme des Garcons to create premium scents.
From Niven and Joshua he then went on to set up a mens grooming blog called Ape to Gentlemen and set up a partnership with Les Senteurs in London.
In 2012 Eli became a part of a project creating mens products called Mancave. The product launched with Sainsbury's in 2012. The products had a Cedarwood based scent to them and due to the success of the scent went on to create a showergel with the same Cedarwood based scent to it. As the showergel also did well they adapted the scent and brought out a new showergel that had a lemon note added to it and as it turned out it worked extremely well and did better than the first showergel product that only had the Cedarwood scent.
After the succession of the lemon note showergel they then created a conditioning stylecream, which was called a whisky fragrance, made up of Cognac oil.
Eli had also started a project just before the one with Mancave called Unilever where he was hired to help them define new concepts for mens grooming products.
